Why are there blank areas on the charts or no new images?

The live data images (Sea Surface Temperatures & Chlorophyll) cannot see through clouds and fog. There will be days where there will be no data in your region. This is why we have the Cloud Free SST charts, the next best thing. The Cloud Free SST can see through the clouds to give you a "big-picture" idea of how the sea surface temperature is changing, even when it's totally overcast.
